Chain Harrow
We present the pasture harrow, a chain harrow. This tool serves as invaluable equipment for maintaining meadows and pastures, especially during the spring season when removing plant residues and aerating the soil are crucial for the growing grass. It also performs very well in early agricultural operations.
The harrow is a tool that delicately processes the top layer of soil, allowing for the removal of the crust formed on its surface (often done in early spring) and uniformly smoothing the field. This action significantly impacts maintaining the proper moisture level in the soil, preventing excessive evaporation from deeper layers.
This practice is pivotal before sowing, preparing the soil for the seed germination process. Harrows, also known as cultivators, not only break up soil clods but also eliminate weeds, cover seeds after sowing, and evenly distribute any irregularities in the terrain, such as molehills or clumps of soil.
Harrowing has an additional benefit – it helps the soil lose moisture from the surface more quickly and increases its temperature, aiding the faster seeding process. Harrows are utilized by guiding them at a sharp angle relative to the direction of the blades, achieving the best results in preparing the soil for sowing.
